NEWSFLASH: Our spring season is beginning in March 2023. Our first meeting will be Monday, March 6th at 7:30! All singers, new and old, are welcome!
We will be rehearsing at the United Methodist Church at 421 Common Street in Belmont.
Covid vaccinations required. See our Logistics page for more information about our Covid protocol.
We love to sing! Our mission is to unite singers from the Belmont, Massachusetts community and surrounding area in fun with song. All are welcome. For beginner to experienced singers alike, we seek to provide an opportunity to gather regularly to sing with an ensemble, to improve our vocal skills (no matter the starting point!), and to perform as an ensemble at local venues. We sing a variety of exciting vocal music from yesterday to today.
In 2012, a small band of singers gathered on a warm, late-summer’s night in the chorus room at Belmont High, to discuss the possibility of forming a community chorus. Some of us sang in the six-week Belmont Parent-Teacher Chorus that winter. Our founding leader, Kathy Ryan, asked “Why can’t we keep on singing all year round?” We closed the evening singing an a cappella round, committed to “going for it;” our numbers were few, but our spirit was strong.
We have been singing together as the Belmont Community Chorus ever since!
